The best laid plans of mice and men........Our plane was late taking off from Kathmandu. (Thanks to the rain the other day, though, it was the best view that I've ever had of the Himalayas as seen from the Kathmandu Valley). Vini at Vinstring Travel knows his craft well, so he'd scheduled plenty of time between my arrival to Delhi and the flight to Jaipur.

Unfortunately, the flight to Jaipur was non- existent that day. No explanation. Jet Airways did secure a van to take the nine of us to Jaipur. Cons of the changed travel plans was getting to Jaipur late, six hours late. Pros - supposedly a full refund of the price of the ticket and seeing an elephant caravan lumbering along under the moonlight.

I'm at the Madhuban Heritage Hotel, an old haveli converted to hotel. They have a breakfast buffet on the garden, so I slept in till 8, had a big breakfast to make up for yesterday's missed dinner. and will just catch up on email and travel plans, then venture out to the bandhani cloth market.
